Will Young all set to appear in Cabaret

Will Young, the US music artist, will welcome people to Cabaret when it comes at Liverpool Empire later this autumn. The songwriter and singer was nominated for the esteemed Olivier award for his portrayal of Emcee in West End. He is now headlining the event when it comes to Lime Street landmark for a week from 2nd September.

The thirty four year old music artist came to fame after winning the first ever Pop Idol contest in the year 2002 but along with his music career, Will Young has also relished a very successful career in acting including appearing with Dame Judi Dench in the movie Mrs Henderson Presents.

Cabaret is based in the decadent clubs as well as underground dives of Weimar Berlin 1931 and it tells the story of Sally Bowles who performs nightly at the well known Kit Kat Klub where Will Young’s character is Emcee. Actually, the musical was premiered in the year 1966 on Broadway and made into film with Michael York, Joel Grey and Liza Minnelli in the year 1972. Over several years, this has won 8 Oscar awards, 7 BAFTA awards as well as thirteen Tony awards.

The newest touring event features choreography from Olivier award winning Javier De Frutos, as well as some of the most iconic singles in musical theater including Maybe This Time, Money Makes the World Go Round as well as the title track itself - Cabaret.
