BOYLE TOPS THE CHARTS

BOYLE TOPS THE CHARTS

Rihanna has topped the UK singles chart for the second week in a row with her latest track Only Girl (In The World), keeping the newly re-united Take That from the top spot.

With Robbie Williams in tow, Take That failed to top the charts and instead came in as a new entry at number two with their single The Flood. Katy Perry jumped up one place to number three with Firework, while McFly were a new entry at four with Shine A Light (ft. Taio Cruz). US Teen star Alex Jordan fell two places to complete the top five at number five with Happiness.

Seven new single entries charted outside the top ten this week. The Black Eyed Peas landed at 311 with The Time (Dirty Bit), featuring a sample from the cult 80's film Dirty Dancing. Former X-Factor winner Shayne Ward landed at 12 with Gotta Be Somebody, while P!nk charted at 13 with new single Raise Your Glass. Gyptian saw his new track Hold You land at 16, The Royal British Legion were a new entry at 20 with their completely silent track 2 Minute Silence and My Chemical Romance entered at 31 with their single Na Na Na. Finally, Ellie Goulding appeared at 39 with her new single Your Song.

Former Britain's Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle has topped the UK album chart with her second album The Gift. Having entered record books for the fatest selling album by a UK female with her debut I Dreamed A Dream, the Scottish singer is enjoying her continued success.
